Many minigames!

Ah, I did it again! I forgot to update. Eep!

Here’s what I’ve made over the past few months. If you’re paying attention to twitter, you probably already played them all. But if you missed anything, well, here it is!

First up is Quest, a small jam game made super quickly. I mostly wanted to play around with low res faux-Spectrum look (it’s not accurate to it, as I was just having fun).

Next, my entry for Ludum Dare 20, >Start >Fight >Run. I didn’t get to polish it as much as I would have liked, as I didn’t have enough focus this time. Oh well. :)

Also, I made a silly but slightly offensive game about the Rapture. Save Them All! (Except Those Guys, They Don’t Deserve It)

Finally, I started learing AS3. I haven’t got very far yet, but I did make a port of one of my old jam games, Trap. (The original was made in less than an hour, so it’s a little throw-away. But as a test of getting stuff on a screen and working, it did its job. :3 ) Hope to have something more impressive soon-ish :D

  • Dear Bento,

I have searched for a way to contact you and only found this blog – so I’ll try via commenting (sorry, dear blog readers, for the unconvenience) and hope that you’ll read this comment this week-end.

First, my compliments for the mini graphic novel “enemy of the solid state”. I am a journalist and working for c’t magazine, one of Germany’s senior and longest living printed computer magazines, issued bi-weekly. Every three to four issues we attach a DVD-ROM to our printed magazine containing programs concerning a certain topic. Just now, I’m preparing a DVD-ROM for magazine issue 24/2011 about free and open source games, and I’d be glad if you would give me your permission to include “enemy of the solid state” on that DVD. The magazine itself will bear a 10 page article that covers all games on the DVD. Every developer of the games will receive a free copy of magazine and DVD if he/she wants and supplies me a postal address where I can send those copies to.

If you agree, all I need is an E-mail address where I can send the link to the database web form for your game so that you can activate the “permission” field and grant me your permission to include your game. The deadline is sunday 12 pm CET, because we have to build the DVD master on monday morning. I’d be glad if you grant me an answer. Please use my E-mail address I provides in the header field of this comment.

    Greetings from Hannover, Germany,

But, consider this, what if you were to create a awesome post title?
I ain’t suggesting your content is not solid., but what if you
added a post title that makes people desire more?
I mean Many minigames! « bentosmile is a little boring.
You should glance at Yahoo’s front page and watch how they
create news headlines to grab viewers to open the links.
You might try adding a video or a pic or two to get readers interested about what you’ve written. In my opinion, it would make your website a little livelier.
